Ne-Yo is the stage name of Shaffer Chimere Smith, an American singer-songwriter. He became famous in 2006 with his hit song “So sick” and further caused a furore with songs such as Hate that I love you (a duet with Rihanna) and Miss Independent.
The name Ne-Yo is derived from Neo, the main character in the movie trilogy The Matrix.
