In the mid-90s, the Dutch duo Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo were one of the most successful Happy Hardcore artists in Europe. In 1995 they break through internationally with the song “Wonderful Days”, in which they use – as in almost all happy hardcore albums – a sample that they play a lot faster with hardcore beates. The song they use is Help (Get me some Help) by Tony Ronald from 1971 (can be heard here). The Happy Hardcore hype didn’t last very long, but in that period they score some very big hits.
